What If

What if we meet angels everyday?

I know the picture in your head, I have the same picture:

Long white robe, huge flapping wings, long brown hair with a halo hovering above their head and well manicured feet. Please don’t argue with my imagination.

What if we meet them everyday but not how our minds have planned it to be?

What if it’s that beggar who you intentionally refused to give alms to because you believe “most of these beggars are jazz men, make person nuh take him badluck rub me“.

The old man who could barely stand upright at the hospital and there was no chair for him to sit. You hissed and ignored him after all “Na first come, first serve. He should’ve come earlier”.

The little girl who runs to you to beg for something to eat because her mum hadn’t cooked that day and you wonder what kind of lazy mother she has.

The woman who pleads with the keke guy to collect less than he usually would for her destination and you sit and watch her get humiliated by his words.

The homeless woman with children whom you pass everyday on your way to work. Come rain or sunshine she’s there with no food, shelter, or protection. Then you say to yourself “it’s not my business”

The guy you just spoke to in a condescending manner because he’s not up to your standard. Like we say it these days “he’s not my type or we’re not in the same class or we don’t role in the same circles“. My all time favourite is ” This guy will reduce my social GPA” Wawu!!! Wetin man no go hear for this country.

The person you refused to share your food with because you were too hungry after all “if hunger de catch the person, make him go buy him own” and as we all know “a hungry man is an angry man”

….

Abraham met 3 angels who had no semblance as the angels we have in our minds.

And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground

Genesis 18:2 KJV

The reason why they won’t come the way we want is because it’ll be pure eye service so they can give a good report of you in Heaven. Weh done sir/ma🙋🙋!!! Sense nuh go kee you.

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Hebrews 13:2 KJV

It’s not about how many scriptures you know or how many times you go to church neither is it about your gift of prophecy. If your heart is empty, they don’t count.

Love is and will always be the greatest. Stop creating angels in your head. You meet them everyday either as people in need or people filled with wisdom. Your heart’s too empty to notice.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Matthew 25:41‭-‬46 KJV

You’re not an accidental piece of creation therefore nothing in life is a or happens by coincidence.

What are your thoughts?
